Atmosphere M/V

The Atmosphere M/V was designed and carefully built to be the perfect means to explore the unseen Chilean Patagonia. This small cruise ship, exclusive and intimate, is manned by 32 crew members and has a capacity limited to only 28 passengers. It carries aboard a six-passengers Bell 407 helicopter to airlift explorers to otherwise unreachable spots, six jet-boats to conquer the most recondite rivers of the Chilean Patagonia, a top-of-the-line Zodiac Hurricane boat to scout the coastline and an array of specialized watercrafts such as portable zodiacs for helifishing operations, catarafts, kayaks and rafting rafts. This equipment is completed by 12 jet skiffs and 36 Mackenzie boats, all of which have been flown in to strategic locations in Patagonian territory.

Cabins and amenities

The Mothership's cabins have been built with extreme care, prioritising comfort and safety above all. You'll also find the décor of a highly refined taste, so you definitely won't miss anything from back home.

The cabin structure is as follows:

  • 10 twin cabins
  • 4 double cabins
  • All cabins are exterior
  • Private bathroom (includes hairdryer)
  • Security box

Our cabins are specially designed to give our passengers the privacy and comfort they need. We've made a great effort to provide our passengers with natural and tasteful interiors, to make you feel just as if you were home. You'll also feel our warm and attentive service during your whole trip.

Helicopter

Our helicopter, a Bell 407, is one of the worlds most fully equipped units, featuring IFR single-pilot capabilities to face almost any weather condition, plus the possibility of safely taking back guests to the mainland under intensive weather conditions or limited visibility. Forward and rear 15 inch monitors with an unprecedented moving map capability will give you an outstanding graphical display of where you are flying. Cargo baskets will carry our zodiacs, outboard engines and all related equipment to spots that dictate safe means of moving around not only by foot. Other features include a deluxe interior with air conditioning and arctic heaters for all temperatures.

Jetboats and Zodiac

Transportation is the essence of our activity, being in the appropriate spot at the right moment is what extreme fly fishing is all about. This would not be possible without our helicopters, custom built jet boats and the support of our Mothership. Our custom jet boats will be manufactured by Roguejet in Medford, Oregon, and specially designed for our operation with joint input from us and Bruce Wassom, owner of the company and one of the most experienced welded aluminium boat builders and drivers in the industry. He has fished and explored numerous rivers in the Patagonia region of Chile, navigated rivers in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal, in Alaska, Canada and the U.S.A. Our fleet is made up of 6 fully equipped Jetboats, plus 2 SOLAS Rescue Boats, 4 Helitour Mission Zodiacs, and one Huricane 920 RIB Zodiac.

SPA

After an intense day out in Patagonia, replenish your energy at Atmosphere's spa, which includes a sauna, thalassotherapy and massage services. On the fifth floor you will find the thalassotherapy bathtubs, heated at 37°C, the steam filling the air with pleasant marine aromas. Submerging in these waters is a great way to relax after an excursion. The benefits of thalassotherapy treatments come from the rich biological and chemical elements present in sea water, which help to soothe diverse pains and illnesses, along with the relaxation provided by the waters heat. The sauna is also located on the fifth floor, alongside the tubs. The feeling of its replenishing heat in contrast with the cool Patagonian breeze is a great way to get your body energized. This service, managed by specialized personnel, is available at all times. The third item in this relaxing triage is the massage service, provided in the comfort and privacy of your own room by expert masseuses, who use natural essential oils for aromatherapy benefits.

Gourmet Dining

The Nomads Patagonian adventure acquires an entire new meaning aboard Atmosphere with the delicious culinary varieties, refined Chilean wine tastings and the joy of newfound friendships in beautiful surroundings. Nomads' gastronomic offer is one of the treats passengers can experience on board. Nomads of the Seas is the gateway to a unique and yet unexplored gastronomy: Patagonian cuisine. Its distinctive feature is the wide variety of native ingredients found in the southern part of Chile and used in traditional Chilean preparations. Its repertoire includes fish such as salmon, grouper and hake; among shellfish are abalone, sea urchin, krill and king crab. Red meats include lamb, beef and also a few game birds. Patagonian food preparations will be presented in frequent gourmet events throughout the journey aboard Atmosphere. One of these will be dedicated to the savouring of calafate, a tasty black fruit that grows in Patagonia. There will also be special wine tastings featuring the best Chilean varieties, including some which are very hard to find in the market. An inaugural dinner will follow, which will provide an introduction to Patagonian cuisine. Guests will be able to share preparations such as antipasto, pickled quail, duck confit, and shrimp, to name a few, in a wide array of presentations. Farewell at Nomads includes an extraordinary dinner/tasting event which will allow guests to travel across Patagonian cuisine, as well as Chilean cuisine, both at their best. These delicious Patagonian meals are paired off with suitable, refined Chilean wines of different varieties.
