Day 1 - Monday 24 November
Dubai - Amman, Jordan
Fly to Amman and on arrival transfer to your hotel. Amman, the modern and ancient capital of Jordan, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the World. The city’s modern buildings blend with the remnants of ancient civilizations. The profusion of gleaming white houses and tiny cafes, conjure a mood straight from 'A Thousand And One Nights'. Amman’s modern history began in the late 19th Century, when the Ottomans resettled a colony of Circassian emigrants in 1878. Emir Abdullah ibn Al-Hussein founder of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan made Amman his capital in 1921. Since then, Amman has grown rapidly into a modern, thriving metropolis of well over two million people. B
Day 2 - Tuesday 25 November
Amman
Morning city tour of Amman, Roman Amphitheatre, Museum, Citadel, Archeological Museum, King Abdulla Mosque, Bazaars, and the Souq. Lunch (own arrangements) Afternoon tour to the Graeco Roman City of Jerash-Hadrian’s Arch, Temples of Zeus and Artemis, Grand Forum, Cardo Maximus, Roman theatres and Mile-Long Street of Columns. Return to hotel. B
Day 3 - Wednesday 26 November
Amman - Petra
Petra is a treasure of the ancient world, hidden behind an almost impenetrable barrier of rugged mountains, boasting incomparable scenes that make it the most majestic and imposing ancient site still-standing. The rock-carved rose-red city of Petra is full of mysterious charm, it was 'designed to strike wonder into all who entered it'. It is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2000 years ago. Admired then for its refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is now a UNESCO world heritage site and one of The New 7 Wonders of the World. Continue to Madaba, St.George’s Church, Mt Nebo, the point of the Prophet Moses, Wadi Al, Mujib, Arnon River, Kerak, Crusaders’ Castle at Kerak. Overnight in Petra. B
Day 4 - Thursday 27 November
Petra - Amman
Horse ride to the entrance of the 'Siq'. Full day exploring the magnificent 'Lost City'. Late afternoon drive back to Amman and your hotel. B
Day 5 - Friday 28 November
Amman - Dubai
Transfer from hotel to airport to join flight to Dubai. Overnight Dubai. B
Day 6 - Saturday 29 November
Dubai - Australia
Transfer to airport for morning flight back to Australia. B
Day 7 - Sunday 30 November
Arrive Australia
