Fury and Hecla

Stories of Exploration

16 days
27 August - 11 September 2009

Nearly 200 years have passed since Perry named the passage

During this 16-day Canadian Arctic expedition you'll transit the legendary Hecla and Fury Strait. Named for a pair of exploration ships that were forced to turn back when they reached the ice-choked channel, this body of water on the west coast of Baffin Island continues to thwart ordinary vessels - the exception - our polar class icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov.
