Cairns to Darwin or reverse

Aboard Oceanic Discoverer and Coral Princess

April - October
12 days

The 12 day expeditions on both the Oceanic Discoverer and Coral Princess “Across the Top End” between Cairns and Darwin explore the rarely visited Northern Australian coastline. Few people have the opportunity to visit this remote region due to the very limited road access. Your voyage of discovery starts or ends at Cairns, the capital of tropical North Queensland and gateway to the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef, remote National Parks of Cape York Peninsula and the fascinating islands of the Torres Strait and the rarely visited waters of the Arafura and Timor seas.

You will learn of the success and failures of early explorers and settlers and be fascinated by the diverse cultures of the Aboriginal, Torres Strait and Tiwi Islanders. Other highlights of the cruise include the Cobourg Peninsula, Arnhem Land and the Tiwi Islands. The expedition concludes or starts at Darwin, capital of the Northern Territory and the gateway to the famous National Parks of Kakadu and Litchfield.

This is a rare opportunity to explore a land of mystery and intrigue, with fascinating plants and animals found nowhere else in Australia.
