23 May to 14 June 200823 days

Surprise ranks high among visitors to the Baltic States - surprise that there is so much of interest and beauty to see, and surprise that we could have remained so ignorant of these magnificent Baltic countries and their heritage for so long - surprise, perhaps, at the level of sophistication to be found here.

On our tour we will discover and experience many links to the past as we marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage Listed historic ‘Old Towns’ of the three Baltic capitals. Vilnius, Lithuania with its links to Catholic Poland, whereas Tallinn in Estonia and Riga, Latvia are basically Nordic cities, having been citadels of the Teutonic Knights, members of the Hanseatic League and as such were subject to Danish and Swedish Rule.

Our journey takes us onto Imperial St Petersburg, home to the Czars. Few cities offer so many captivating attractions and intriguing moods as St. Petersburg. Created by Peter the Great in 1703 to be his “window on Europe”, we will discover how St Petersburg, the most glorious of cities combines its fascinating Russian heritage with a distinctly European outlook. Considered the cultural heart of modern day Russia, St. Petersburg has most certainly regained its reputation as one of the Great Cities of Europe. Leaving Russia we travel to historical and vibrant Berlin. We will spend a relaxing time exploring the delights of the regions Prussian Palaces and gardens in Potsdam, Worlitz and Dresden. Perhaps among the most famous, Frederick the Great's beautiful Schloss Sans Souci.

Whilst this unique tour of the Baltic states, St Petersburg and the Prussian region of Germany is designed to showcase the fascinating culture, history and mysteries that each has to offer, we have also especially selected a charming collection of hotels and diversions to thoroughly enhance the enjoyment of your tour. Do join us on this fascinating escorted tour, designed especially for our direct clientele, it promises to provide you with the most wonderful everlasting memories.
