23 days
8 to 30 August 2009

We are delighted to bring you our wonderful new tour to the rugged and historic Maritime Islands of Atlantic Canada. Fill your senses with the natural beauty of Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia and feel your spirit soar surrounded by the history and warmth of all that you encounter here.

We first travel to Vancouver, where we take time to visit magnificent Butchart Gardens on Victoria Island, before flying onto the east coast and the fortified, UNESCO World Heritage Listed, Quebec City. We will spend two days discovering the must-see sights and hidden gems of this amazing city.

Then, it's off to the provincial capital and largest city in Newfoundland, St John's, where our Maritime Islands tour starts in earnest. During our leisurely paced tour we will experience an unique cultural journey, travelling through vibrant cities and coastal towns rich in history, warm hospitality, rustic fishing villages and unspoiled nature.

Our visit to Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula, home to UNESCO listed Gros Morne National Park, will prove a rare opportunity of discovery. We'll learn of ancient peoples and stand where Vikings stood in the Archaic community at L'Anse aux Meadows. Among the many highlights of our adventure will certainly be the spectacular coastal seascapes and our sea crossing from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia. As you read through this brochure, we're sure that you, too, will want to experience these marvellous islands that beg to be explored.

On this especially crafted tour designed for our direct clientele, our group size is limited to an intimate number of travellers and is hosted by an Adventure Associates Tour Leader. Join us for a truly unique journey and celebrate the distinctive traditions of the Canadian Maritimes.
