This extraordinary expedition explores the treacherous, ice-choked Ross Sea. Witness the majestic snow-capped volcanic peak of Mount Erebus, visit the famous Antarctic outposts of McMurdo Station (USA) and Scott Base (NZ) as well as the nearby enormous Adélie Penguin colonies. Travel by jet helicopter to the legendary Dry Valleys, an out-of-this-world landscape of bizarre wind-eroded rocks and desert scenery more akin to Mars than our planet Earth. Search for orcas and Minke whales as they prey and feed along the edge of the permanent ice pack. No-one returns from the Ross Sea unaffected by these marvels of nature.
