Day 1
Guatemala City - Flores, Tikal
Today travel back more than 2,000 years when you visit the Tikal National Park. Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Flores. On arrival, your guide will take you to the Mayan city of Tikal, located in the center of the National Park. Tikal was inhabited from 600 BC. to 869 AD. The height of its glory was between 690 to 850 AD, a period known by archaeologists as the Late Classic. Visit the Twin-Pyramid Complexes, Lost World Complex where the Great Pyramid and Temple are the most important. Also, visit Temple III and the Palace of the Windows, the Great Plaza, squared off with the pyramids of the Grand Jaguar and the Masks, the Palace of the Nobles and Pyramid IV. Overnight at the Camino Real Hotel.
Day 2
Tikal, Flores - Guatemala City
This morning transfer to Tikal National Park and visit Temple VI a religious monument east of the Great Plaza. It was discovered in 1951 and is also known as 'Temple of the Inscriptions' due to the hieroglyphic writings located on the eastern side of the Temple. In the afternoon, transfer to Santa Elena's Airport, in Flores, to board the flight to Guatemala City. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. BL
