'Small-Group' Galapagos and Inca Odyssey Tours

9 to 28 May and 26 September to 15 October 2008

Adventure Associates, Australia's first and longest established South American tour operator, offers two speciality small-group tours for 2008 exploring Ecuador's world famous Galapagos Islands and the historic lost cities of the Incas– two of the world's greatest and most tantalising destinations. These in-depth tours also feature naturalist guides on the specially-chartered Galapagos cruise sections of the itinerary.

The Galapagos is a place of breath-taking contrasts: a world where time has stood still — almost primeval in its splendour. Marine and Land Iguanas - lizards resembling dinosaurs, giant tortoises, and birds found nowhere else on earth. Galapagos wildlife is unafraid of human visitors, making it one of the world’s greatest wildlife destinations. The Galapagos Islands have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Both tours feature an 8-day Galapagos cruise aboard a deluxe motor yacht, with experienced naturalist guides and a passenger capacity of just 20 ensuring an in-depth journey with a maximum amount of time ashore.

The Peruvian portion of the tour combines the best and most historic treasures of the Inca civilisation. From Lima, the tour traces through Cuzco, the Sacred Valley, to famed Machu Picchu ending in the Chilean capital, Santiago before boarding returning to Australia. Travelling to the Galapagos in 2008 is certainly the sensible thing to do in order to avoid the influx of people expected during the 50th anniversary in 2009 of the Darwin institute and the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin. During this time facilities are sure to be strained.

The 20-day 'Galapagos and Inca Odyssey' also features touring in Chile's cosmopolitan capital Santiago, remote and fascinating Aguas Calientes, Pisac's vibrant and colourful Indian Market and the historic capital of Quito.

This exciting adventure is priced at $10,850 per person twin share ex Sydney, including airfares, sightseeing, transfers, accommodation and most meals.
