The great Maritime Provinces of Atlantic Canada
A grand Canadian tour from iconic tour operator, Adventure Associates.
This 23-day journey takes you to three of the great Atlantic provinces of eastern Canada. Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. There are many outstanding travel destinations in Canada, but the Atlantic coast is somewhat unknown to Australian travellers and it is the habitat of some of the world's most tremendous coastal experiences. Millions of seabirds, rites of passage for Humpback whales and a parade of towering icebergs in the final days of their million-year existence.
The tour will visit the mighty UNESCO World Heritage Listed, Gros Morne National Park; the most easterly point in all of North America, Cape Spear; here too lies the remains of the first known European settlement in the New World, L’Anse aux Meadows. For anyone who has ever dreamt of these amazing coastal provinces, those names are poetic invocations, calling up in the mind's eye all of the spectacular coastal seascapes, the culturally rich and unspoiled nature of these maritime islands.
The tour travels via Vancouver and Quebec City, where two days are spent exploring this fascinating 'French' flavoured capital. Then, it's off to the provincial capital and largest city in Newfoundland, St John's. A strange blend of rugged frontier town and cosmopolitan city chic.
This leisurely paced tour travels to such wonderful places as Twillingate, Cow Head, Corner Brook and Port aux Basques, not forgetting Sydney, Nova Scotia. You are assured of personalised service at the hotels and lodges featured in the itinerary, including the Le Manoir Victoria in Old Quebec. But the one thing that pervades everywhere in the Atlantic Provinces is the warmth and friendliness with which you are greeted.
Adventure Associates' Maritime Canada itinerary, is a result of creating the right balance between activity, relaxation and time. They believe that the tour offers an intimate relationship between traveller, location and discovery.
