The world's newest, largest Icebreaker

Adventure Associates is thrilled to announce that their North Pole voyages in 2008 will be aboard the most sophisticated nuclear-powered icebreaker - '50 Years of Victory!'

50 Years of Victory is the first Arktika-class icebreaker to have a spoon-shaped bow. Boosting efficiency is the all-new digital automated control system. The ship, designed with a stainless steel ice belt 5 metres wide, breaks through ice up to 2.5 metres thick. The icebreaker is driven by 2 nuclear reactors that produce 75,000 horsepower. In open water, top speed can be as much as 21.4 knots. The ship provides ample public space: featuring an Aft Saloon and Forward Lounge, in addition to a bar and library. There's an indoor pool and two saunas. The vessel has 64 cabins with five cabin categories, all with facilities en suite and a window that opens to an ocean view.

The maiden voyage is the June 23rd 2008 departure to the North Pole. We invite you to be among the first to come aboard! Only a select few make it each year. Here is your chance to add your name to the short list of adventurers who have made the ultimate journey to the top of the world!

Her other sailings for the year are 6th and 19th July 2008. The expeditions start in Helsinki prior to flying into Murmansk, Russia for embarkation returning to Murmansk 16 days later.

Space on all departures is limited so if you wish to be among those special adventurers, call now for reservations.
