The ultimate white Christmas!

Expedition holiday cruises to the white continent

Escape The Ordinary and Spend Christmas and New Year amidst awe-inspiring Icebergs and abundant wildlife in Antarctica

It is here, that passengers aboard our cruises celebrate Christmas Day gathering on deck for carols and Eggnog before sitting down to a traditional Christmas dinner. This is also the region where those welcoming in the New Year will enjoy a midnight toast and dancing under the sunny skies of Antarctica’s Austral summer’s endless daylight.A festive feast featuring international favourites await guests in the ship’s dining rooms where black-tie is strictly optional and only good fish (or elephant seal, dolphin, whale, Gentoo Penguin and Cape Petrel) stories are required. Good weather permitting the party moves outdoors for a celebration barbeque and champagne on deck or nearby ice.

You set out from the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia, sailing directly to the Antarctic Peninsula across the Drake Passage, via the South Shetland Islands. Throughout the cruises you are taken to visit penguin colonies and look out for whales and seals amongst the ice. Photographic opportunities abound, with a myriad of wildlife set against a backdrop of magnificent mountains. The journey continues down the perimeter of the peninsula, taking in such highlights as the Gerlache Strait, where sheer, snow-dusted peaks usher the vessel into the narrow, ice-choked confines of the Lemaire Channel. Zodiac cruises are taken amongst bizarre assortments of grounded icebergs and conditions being favourable, some cruises stop to visit one of the most remote museums in the world, Port Lockroy, where people can send home a genuine Antarctic postcard... What a Festive time it would be!
