Punta Arenas - Ushuaia
Cruises aboard M/N Mare Australis and M/N Via Australis
The Mare and Via Australis were built specifically to cruise Patagonia along the spectacular waterways around the Strait of Magellan and Beagle Channel. We'll visit such celebrated sights as Cape Horn, Marinelli and Pia Glaciers, and the charming town of Puerto Williams before venturing to Magdalena Island. Magdalena is home to a natural reserve of Magellan penguins, cormorants, and other sea birds. Follow the path of famous explorers around the end of the world - unique Patagonia travel!
Day 1
Punta Arenas
Embark the Expedition Cruise Ship. The Captain and crew will give a welcome cocktail reception on board, then the ship will sail through the mythical Strait of Magellan, travelling to Southern Patagonia, including Tierra de Fuego
Day 2
Ainsworth Bay - Tucker Islet
We sail to Ainsworth Bay arriving near Marinelli Glacier, where we will enjoy a walk. On the beach we will observe a colony of Elephant Seals. Continuing the voyage, we will visit Tucker Islet, where we will sight colonies of Magellanic penguins and Cormorants from the Zodiac boats.
Day 3
Pia Glacier
We disembark in the bay of the Pia Glacier and we will enjoy an excursion to an observation point. We then navigate through the Beagle Channel and appreciate the spectacular “Glacier Avenue”.
Day 4
Cabo de Hornos - Puerto Williams
We will sail through the Beagle Channel and, weather permitting, we disembark in Cabo de Hornos National Park, to admire where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans merge. In the afternoon, we disembark in Puerto Williams, the southernmost town of the world. B
Day 5
Ushuaia
Arrival to Ushuaia, the most important Argentine city in Tierra de Fuego.
