Puerto Montt to Puerto Montt
Aboard M.V. Skorpios II
Departing from Puerto Montt, your destination is the San Rafael Glacier, the majestic relic of the planet's last ice age. M.V.Skorpios II takes you on a dream cruise through spectacular archipelagos, where man's presence is barely perceptible. Softly shaped islands are scattered throughout, home to picturesque fishing villages and settlements, such as Puerto Aguirre and Queillen. Visit Quitralco fjord rich with refreshing thermal baths and tour the UNESCO World Heritage Listed San Rafael National Park with its most spectacular 30,000 year old glacier towing a massive seventy metres. Throughout the cruise you'll have many opportunities to enjoy the warmth of the people of these lands and share with them the majestic landscapes of northern Patagonia.
Day 1 - Saturday
Sail from the Puerto Montt Skorpios Terminal. Navigate through the archipelago of Llanquihue. Sighting of the city of Calbuco. Ancud Gulf, Chiloé archipelago, crossing of the Corcovada Gulf at midnight.
Day 2 - Sunday
Navigate through the Moraleda and Ferronave Canals, arrival at Puerto Aguirre at 11:00 am The stopover in this fishing village will be for one and a half hours. 12:30 pm. - sail through the Ferronave, Pilcomayo and Costal Canals. At approximately 9.30pm - anchor in the Hualas Fishing Village or Puerto Leopardes, 20 miles from the San Rafael Glacier.
Day 3 - Monday
Furrow through the San Rafael Inlet and the Témpanos Canal. 09:00 am. Enter the Lagoon and anchor 2 kms. off the Glacier. 7:00 am we set sail in the direction of Quiltralco Fjord.
Day 4 - Tuesday
Anchor at the Quiltralco dock. After breakfast passengers can take thermal baths in waters of 30° - 36°C, in open-air. If the climate permits excursions in motorboats are available within the Fjord. 7.00pm, set sail towards Chiloé, navigating through the Moraleda and Pérez Norte Canals.
Day 5 - Wednesday
Navigating through the Leucayec Canal, there is a partial view of Melinka, in the Chonos Archipelago, an island that in times past was refuge to notorious pirates. Cross the Corcadova Gulf and sail along the east coast of Chiloé, anchor and view optional, if the climatic conditions permit, in Quellón or Queilen and continue navigation through the Yal Canal and Castro Inlet, arriving at the beautiful city of Castro.
Day 6 - Thursday
After breakfast passengers can visit the handicraft markets, the museum, the Church and walk along the streets of this picturesque city. Optional tours to the city of Chonchi, a distance of 18 kms. are available. 12:pm - return to the Skorpios. Then sail through the Castro Inlet and the Lemy, Dalachaue, Ouicaví and Cabuco Canals. This evening the Captain's farewell dinner prior to arrival at Puerto Montt
Day 7 - Friday
Anchor at the Tenglo Terminal dock. 08:00 - 09:00 am .Disembarkation and transfer of passengers.
